Beautiful views on this hike of the ocean and of some of the Channel Islands on a clear day. If you are up for the 8 mile, 1800 ft hike you will be greeted by the flat area up top after all the climbing. Nicholas Pond (at the top) was quite full and it was August. I even saw some tadpoles! Be mindful of the poison oak off the trail. Took me 4 1/2 hours, with some stoppping. - Stefanie - rating:4 stars - 2008-08-15

Did a small loop portion of the Nicholas Flat trail - to the Vista Overlook and back. Probably only ~2 miles. Anyway, it was a nice hike to get up and look down on the ocean. When I went it was hot with veyr little shade. We were camping at Leo Carillo at the time. - Candice - rating:3 stars - 2006-06-27
