My dog (Winnie) and I went up here in late April. It was a hot day - and there were fires in the Forest happening at the same time. (We had no idea!) Bring lots of water; the views from Strawberry peak are gorgeous, but it's a very dry hike with no shade. I had to carry Winnie out, because it got too hot for her... - M&W - rating:4 stars - 2008-11-17
